Brideshead Revisited
Narrated by Jeremy Irons
Written by Evelyn Waugh

In Evelyn Waugh's "Brideshead Revisited," we enter the opulent world of the Flytes, a Catholic family of English aristocracy, through the eyes of Charles Ryder. Charles, an outsider by birth, becomes captivated by their palatial mansion, Brideshead Castle, and its inhabitants. He forms deep bonds with two Flytes in particular: the charismatic but troubled Sebastian and the stoic beauty Julia.
The novel follows a decades-long journey exploring themes of love, loss, faith, and social class. Sebastian's struggle with alcoholism and Catholicism, Charles's forbidden love for Julia, and the decline of the aristocratic world itself weave a poignant tapestry of memories.
Brideshead Revisited is a story of longing and lost innocence, set against the backdrop of pre-war and wartime England. It's a beautiful meditation on nostalgia, religion, and the fleeting nature of love and life.
